Winter in Alberta

A storm is setting in this morning. Nothing like the east coast has experienced but disappointing after the wonderful thaws we've been having.
I poked my head out to get a picture of it and was pleased to see the neighbour's deck chairs provide a pleasing contrast to all the grey and whiteness about.

A New Day Dawns

Begonia loves Spring Sunshine

March Sunset

Still as cold as winter but the colour of the sunshine says it's nearing spring.

Cold Alberta Evening

Goodnight, Sun

It was cold and frosty last night.

Here Comes Winter!

Four thirty in the afternoon. Snowing hard but the flakes are just little. Northern Alberta. Oh boy.

Frosty

That Golden Hour

We were driving out into the country last night, slightly late for a supper invitation, against the setting sun.  The photo ops were incredible and we had no time for more than a couple quick shots.  My daughter captured the sun in the sky and mirrored on the hood of the vehicle, and I only had time to capture the little grasses, each lit up and alight with the glow of the setting sun.

A Spot or Two of Colour

We don't get the intense autumn colours they do in Eastern Canada but occasionally there is a spot of red foliage for us to feast our eyes on. The leaves are falling fast but some hang on. Just to make lawn raking interesting.

On my Phone I have an app for reflections.  Kind of useless as far as I can see but it produces some pretty cool effects.

Gourds

Is summer really over unless there are pumpkins and zucchini to be had?

It seems strange to be on the receiving end of things like that but jere I am, and my friend Joanne brought me zucchini and delightfully warty gourds.

September Pouts

Nasty cold rainy September Sunday afternoon.  But I know September can be gloriously golden yellow and blue hot and happy.  I am waiting for it.

Summer is Getting Along

The ferns always  amaze me. Out of this tiny little rolled up package come these magnificent fronds.

I have a weakness for sedum. They are like flowers even of they don't bloom.

Palletwood Fire

Finally it's been cool enough to enjoy the fire.

Barn and Flowers

oh Deer

If you look really closely you can see the deer along the bush. I was driving home down a back road, slowly, to soak up the harvest scene and the golden late afternoon sunshine when I spotted them. I need a zoom lens on my phone!

A Gate

I picked berries today at a friend's farm. I liked their gate. The raspberries were pretty good too.

Dew Drops

The humidity is very high. I find it curious that the grassy things collect drops but the begonias and ivy are quite dry.

Shot in the Dark

The capability of this little phone to take pictures continues to amaze me. Now if only it had a zoom lens...

Rain on Succulent Flower

There was a thunderstorm early this morning. It blew by before the sunrise and we now have a glorious summer day.
I am sometimes amazed at the quality of picture one can obtain with just sn android phone. My Canon rebel couldn't focus this well closeup.  I think I would have to have a macro lens, not just the setting on the dial.

I haven't seen the spider that spun it but it is a handsome web in our garage window
